I know this may sound crazy but, I really did live on just $181.68 take home pay every week. If that doesn't sound nuts, then this surely will. I actually managed to save money while living that way.

3. Get a job that I'm actually qualified for, work myself half to death, and hope the bosses would take notice and reward me.
4. Learn to live in such a way that allows me to save some substantial cash and build a bank account to be proud of.
Facing these such options may be a little intimidating to you, it certainly was for me at the time. So lets break them down now and see what works.
The ivy league school thing looks like the way to go for sure. There was just one problem with that, as i mentioned above, that type of education wasn't an option given my families budget.
The next choice looked pretty good too. Get a high paying job! Hang on, maybe that is a little harder to accomplish than it seems. Having not already made the ivy league school dream a reality choice two wasn't looking good.
Onward we go, checking off the options that could lead to truck loads of money in the bank and that feeling of security, you know, just like you had while holding your favorite blanket during childhood.
As you may have guessed, and are probably guilty of yourself, I decided on the third choice. Work myself half to death, and hope and pray that the higher ups would take notice.
Even that idea had its flaws. If you have ever asked for a raise you know what we are talking about. They don't just hand those things out. You really have to work for it and still may not ever see a raise. Bosses can be a little blind when it comes to rewarding hard work can't they?
Believe me I worked like crazy for my little paychecks. At the office twelve hours a day, five or six days a week mind you, was about as much fun as one would imagine. Almost none at all...
Sadly that's where most people stop in that list of options we talked about a minute ago. Drifting along in life making no progress. The money comes in and it goes right back out again. Over and over, month after month.
So why do i tell you this whole long story?
It is not to make you feel bad for me about not going to Harvard. I'm sure you have some stories of your own. I certainly am not looking for your pity for the $181.68 paychecks i was seeing every Friday.
Its because if you are reading this you probably already know a story much like this one. I would be willing to bet my $181.68 that story is your own. Am i right?
Good, now that we are on the same page...
The reason is this...I created a way...a system if you will, that would allow me to save money no matter what I earned. Every week and every month I slowly managed to grow that savings account, like clockwork, and the best part is...anyone can do it...if I could!
I need to admit something to you here before we go any further.
While the fact that I was getting net paychecks of just $181.68 a week is completely true, that is not the whole story.
I did live on that amount of money. It covered my groceries, utilities, and all the other wonderful expense in life but...I was also getting small commission checks about halfway through each month from the prior months work.
Telling you that was important for two reasons.
1. I don't want you to think that I was putting away hundreds of dollars a week while making less than two hundred. I'm not going to insult you like that. Its simple math really.
2. Those little bonus checks didn't make much of a difference. They did go in the bank but, I only lived on measly little take home checks and still managed to save money and bank it.
With that important bit of honesty explained, lets look back at option number four from earlier.
